40:27 Lamah tomar Yaakov utedaber Yisrael nisterah darki me'HASHEM ume'Elokai mishpati ya'avor.
Why do you say, O Yaakov, and declare, - O Yisrael, - 'My way is hidden from HASHEM, and my cause has passed by my G-d?
28 Halo yadata im-lo shamata Elokei olam HASHEM bore ketzot ha'aretz lo yi'af velo yiga ein cheker litevunato.
Did you not know? Did you not hear? HASHEM is the eternal G-d, the Creator of the ends of the earth; He does not weary, He does not tire; there is no calculating His understanding.
29 Noten laya'ef koach ule'ein onim otzmah yarbeh.
He gives strength to the weary, and grants abundant might to the powerless.
30 Veyi'afu ne'arim veyiga'u uvachurim kashol yikashelu.
Youths may weary and tire and young men may constantly falter,
31 Vekovei HASHEM yachalifu choach ya'alu ever kansharim yarutzu velo yiga'u yelechu velo yi'afu.
but those whose hope is in HASHEM will have renewed strength; they will grow wings like eagles; they will run and not grow tired, they will walk and not grow weary.
41:1 Hacharishu elai iyim ule'umim yachalifu choach yigshu az yedaberu yachdav lamishpat nikravah.
Be silent to [hear] Me, O islands, and let regimes renew strength. Let them approach, then let them speak; together let us approach for judgment.
2 Mi he'ir mimizrach tzedek yikra'ehu leraglo yiten lefanav goyim umelachim yard yiten ke'afar charbo kekash nidaf kashto.
Who inspired [the one] from the east, at whose [every] footstep righteousness attended? [Who] delivered nations him, and subdued kings [before him]? [Who] made [his enemies] like dust [before] his sword; like straw blown about [before] his bow?
3 Yirdefem ya'avor shalom orach beraglav lo yavo.
He pursued them and emerged unhurt, on a path where his feet had never gone.
4 Mi-fa'al ve'asah koreh hadorot merosh ani HASHEM rishon ve'et-acharonim ani hu.
Who brought about and accomplished [this]? He Who proclaimed the generations from the beginning: I, HASHEM, am the first, and I am He Who will be with the last [generations].
5 Ra'u iyim veyira'u ketzot ha'areta yecheradu karevu vaye'etayun.
The islands saw and feared, the ends of the earth shuddered; they approached and came.
6 Ish et-re'ehu ya'azoru ule'achiv yomar chazak.
Each man would help his fellow [worship idols] and to his brother he would say 'Be strong!'
7 Vayechazek charash et-tzoref machalik patish et-holem pa'am omer ladevek tov hu vayechazkehu vemasmerim lo yimot.
The woodworker would encourage the goldsmith, the finishing hammerer [would encourage] the one who pounds from the start; he would say of the glue, 'This is good,' and he would strengthen it with nails so that it should not loosen.
8 Ve'atah Yisrael avdi Yaakov asher beharticha zera Avraham ohavi.
But you, O Yisrael, My servant, Yaakov, you whom I have chosen, offspring of Avraham who loved Me -
9 Asher hechezakticha miketzot ha'aretz ume'atzileiha keraticha va'omar lecha avdi-atah becharticha velo me'asticha.
you whom I shall grasp from the ends of the earth and shall summon from among all its nobelmen, and to whom I shall say, 'You are my servant' - I have chosen you and not rejected you.
10 Al-tira ki imcha-ani al-tishta ki ani Elokeicha imatzticha af-azarticha af-temachticha bimin tzidki.
Fear not for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your G-d. I have strengthen you, even helped you, and even sustained you with My righteous right hand.
11 Hen yevoshu veyikalmu kol hanecherim bakh yihyu che'ayin veyovdu anshei rivecha.
Behold, all who become angry with you will be shamed and humiliated; those who fight with you shall be like nothingness and shall perish.
12 Tevakshem velo timtza'em anshei matzutecha yihyu che'ayin uche'efes anshei milchamtecha.
The men who struggle with you, you shall seek them but not find them; the men who fight you, they shall be like nothingness and naught.
13 Ki ani HASHEM Elokeicha machazik yeminecha ha'omer lecha al-tira ani azarticha.
For I am HASHEM, your G-d, Who grasps your right hand, Who says to you: 'Fear not, [for] I help you!'
14 Al-tir'i tola'at Yaakov metei Yisrael ani azarticha ne'um-HASHEM vego'alech Kedosh Yisrael.
Fear not, O worm of Yaakov, O men of Yisrael, [for] I help you - the word of HASHEM and your Redeemer, the Holy One of Yisrael.
15 Hineh samtich lemorag charutz chadash ba'al pifi'ot tadush harim vetadok ugeva'ot kamotz tasim.
Behold, I have made you like a new, sharp threshing iron with many blades; you will thresh and pulverize mountains, and you will make the hills like chaff.
16 Tizrem veruach tisa'em use'arah tafitz otam ve'atah tagil ba'HASHEM biKedosh Yisrael titehalal.
You will winnow them and the wind will carry them off, a storm will scatter them - but you will rejoice in HASHEM; in the Holy One of Yisra'el you will glory!
