Haftarah Shemot
Yeshayahu 27:6 - 28:13 ; 29:22 - 29:23

27:6 Haba'im yashresh Yaakov yatzitz ufarach Yisrael umal'u fnei-tevel tenuvah.
[Days] are coming when Yaakov will take root; Yisrael will bud and blossom and fill the face of the earth like fruit.

7 Hakemakat makehu hikahu im-kehereg harugav horag.
Did He strike him as He struck those who struck him? Was he slain like the slaying of his [enemies]?

8 Besase'ah beshalechah terivenah hagah berucho hakashah beyom kadim.
According to its measure [of sin] He contended against her farmland, stripping it with His harsh wind on the day of the east wind.

9 Lachen bezot yechupar avon-Yaakov vezeh kol-peri hasir chatato besumo kol-avnei mizbeach ke'avnei-gir menupatzot lo-yakumu asherim vechamanim.
Therefore, through this shall Yaakov's iniquity be atoned for, and this shall be the fruit of his sins' removal: When he makes all the altar stones like ground chalk stones, and Asherah-trees and sun-idols arise no more.

10 Ki ir betzurah badad naveh meshulach vene'ezav kamidbar sham yir'eh egel vesham yirbatz vekhilah se'ifeyha.
For the fortified city will be lonely, habitations depopulated and forlorn like the wilderness; there a calf will graze, there it will lie and consume its branches.

11 Bivosh ketzirah tishavarnah nashim ba'ot me'irot otah ki lo am-binot hu al-ken lo-yerachamenu osehu veyotzro lo yechunenu.
When its boughs wither they will break; women will come and set it aflame, for it is not a nation of understanding; therefore, its Maker will not show it mercy, and its Creator will not be gracious unto it.

12 Vehayah bayom hahu yachebot Hashem mishibolet hanahar ad-nachal Mitzrayim ve'atem teluktu le'achad echad benei Yisrael.
It shall be on that day that Hashem will thresh, from the surging [Euphrates] River to the Brook of Egypt, and you will be gathered up one by one, O Children of Yisrael.

13 Vehayah bayom hahu yitaka beshofar gadol uva'u ha'ovdim be'eretz Ashur vehanidachim be'eretz Mitzrayim vehishtachavu l'Hashem behar hakodesh biYerushalayim.
It shall be on that day that a great shofar will be blown, and those who are lost in the land of Assyria and those cast away in the land of Egypt will come [together], and they will prostrate themselves to Hashem on the holy mountain in Yerushalayim.

28:1 Hoy ateret ge'ut shikorei Efrayim vetzitz novel tzevi tif'arto asher al-rosh gei-shmanim halumei yayin.
Woe to the crown of pride of Efrayim's drunkards; the delight of his glory is a fading blossom; it is [like] a valley of oil upon the head of those battered by wine.

2 Hineh chazak ve'amitz l'Adonai kezerem barad sa'ar katev kezerem mayim kabirim shotfim hiniach la'aretz beyad.
Behold, my Master has a strong and powerful [wind], like a downpour of hail, a destructive tempest; like a downpour of mighty, surging waters He will lay [that crown] to the ground with [His] hand.

3 Beraglayim teramasnah ateret ge'ut shikorei Efrayim.
Trodden underfoot will be the crown of pride of Efrayim's drunkards;

4 Vehayetah tzitzat novel tzevi tif'arto asher al-rosh gei shmanim kevikurah beterem kayitz asher yir'eh haro'eh otah be'odah bechapo yivla'enah.
and the withering blossom, the delight of his glory that is like a valley of oil upon [his] head, will be like a fig that ripens before summer: as soon as an observer sees it, while it is yet in his hand, he swallows it.

5 Bayom hahu yihyeh Hashem Tzevaot la'ateret tzvi velitzfirat tif'arah lishe'ar amo.
On that day, Hashem, Master of Legions, will be the crown of delight and a diadem of glory for the remnant of His people,

6 Uleruach mishpat layoshev al-hamishpat veligvurah meshivei milchamah sharah.
and a spirit of judgment for he who sits in judgment, and a source of strength for those who return from war to the gate.

7 Vegam-eleh bayayin shagu uvashechar ta'u kohen venavi shagu vashekhar nivle'u min-hayayin ta'u min-hashechar shagu baro'eh paku peliliyah.
For they, too, have erred because of wine and strayed because of liquor; the Kohen and the [false] prophet have erred because of liquor and were corrupted by wine; they have strayed because of liquor, erred in vision, perverted justice.

8 Ki kol-shulchanot male'u ki tzo'ah beli makom.
For all tables are full of vomit, filth, with no [clean] place.

9 Et-mi yoreh de'ah ve'et-mi yavin shemu'ah gemulei mechalav atikei mishadayim.
To whom shall one teach knowledge? To whom shall one explain a message? [To] those weaned from [mother's] milk, removed from the breasts?

10 Ki tzav latzav tzav latzav kav lakav kav lakav ze'eir sham ze'eir sham.
For it is commandment by commandment, commandment by commandment; line by line, line by line; a bit here and a bit there; so that they will go and stumble backward and be broken, and be tripped up and caught.

11 Ki bela'agei safah uvelashon acheret yedaber el-ha'am hazeh.
For as if with unintelligible speech and in another tongue does one speak to this nation.

12 Asher amar aleihem zot hamenuchah hanichu le'ayef vezot hamarge'ah velo avu shmoa.
Though he tells them, 'This is the [true] rest, "Give rest to the weary"; and this is the [true] satisfaction!' yet they would not consent to listen.

13 Vehayah lahem devar-Hashem tzav latzav tzav latzav kav lakav kav lakav ze'eir sham ze'eir sham lema'an yelchu vechashlu achor venishbaru venokshu venilkadu.
The word of Hashem shall befall them commandment by commandment, commandment by commandment; line by line, line by line; a bit here and a bit there; so that they will go and stumble backward and be broken, and be tripped up and caught.

29:22 Lachen koh-amar Hashem el-beit Yaakov asher padah et-Avraham lo-atah yevosh Yaakov velo atah panav yechevaru.
Therefore, thus said Hashem, Who redeemed Avraham, to the House of Yaakov: Yaakov will not be ashamed now, and his face will not pale now,

23 Ki vir'oto yeladav ma'aseh yadai bekirbo yakdishu shemi vehikdishu et-kedosh Yaakov ve'et-Elokei Yisrael ya'aritzu.
when he sees his children, My handiwork in their midst, who will sanctify My Name, they will sanctify the Holy One of Yaakov and revere the G-d of Yisrael!

Haftarah VaEra
Yekhezk'el 28:25 - 29:21

28:25 Koh amar HASHEM Elokim bekabetzi et-beit Yisrael min-ha'amim asher nafotzu vam venikdashti vam le'eynei hagoyim veyashvu al-admatam asher natati le'avdi le-Yaakov.
'Thus says HASHEM G-d: "When I have gathered the house of Yisrael from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am hallowed in them in the sight of the Gentiles, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to My servant Yaakov.

26 Veyashevu aleiha lavetach uvanu vatim venate'u cheramim veyashevu lavetach ba'asoti shfatim bechol hashatim otam misevivotam veyade'u ki ani HASHEM Elokeichem.
And they will dwell safely there, build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they will dwell securely, when I execute judgments on all those around them who despise them. Then they shall know that I am HASHEM their G-d."'

29:1 Bashanah ha'asirit ba'asiri bishneim asar lachodesh hayah dvar-HASHEM elai lemor.
In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, the word of HASHEM came to me, saying,

2 Ben-adam sim paneicha al-par'oh melech Mitzrayim vehinave alav ve'al-Mitzrayim kulah.
"Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt.

3 Daber ve'amarta koh-amar HASHEM Elokim hineni aleicha paroh melech- Mitzrayim hatanim hagadol harovetz betoch yeorav asher amar li yeori va'ani asitini.
Speak, and say, 'Thus says HASHEM G-d: "Behold, I am against you, O Pharaoh king of Egypt, O great monster who lies in the midst of his rivers, Who has said, 'My River is my own; I have made it for myself.'

4 Venatati chachim bilchayeicha vehidbakti degat-yeoreicha bekaskesoteicha veha'aliticha mitoch yeoreicha ve'et kol-dgat yeoreicha bekaskesoteicha tidbak.
But I will put hooks in your jaws, and cause the fish of your rivers to stick to your scales; I will bring you up out of the midst of your rivers, and all the fish in your rivers will stick to your scales.

5 Untashticha hamidbarah otcha ve'et kol-degat yeoreicha al-penei hasadeh tipol lo te'asef velo tikavetz lechayat ha'aretz ule'of hashamayim netaticha le'ochlah.
I will leave you in the wilderness, You and all the fish of your rivers; You shall fall on the open field; You shall not be picked up or gathered. I have given you as food To the beasts of the field And to the birds of the heavens.

6 Veyad'u kol-yoshvey Mitzrayim ki ani HASHEM ya'an heyotam mish'enet kaneh leveit Yisrael.
Then all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am HASHEM, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Yisrael.

7 Betofsam becha vakaf terotz uvakata lahem kol-katef uvehisha'anam aleicha tishaver veha'amadeta lahem kol-motnayim.
When they took hold of you with the hand, You broke and tore all their shoulders; when they leaned on you, You broke and made all their backs quiver."

8 Lachen koh amar HASHEM Elokim hineni mevi alayich charev vehichrati mimech adam uvehemah.
'Therefore thus says HASHEM G-d: "Surely I will bring a sword upon you and cut off from you man and beast.

9 Vehayetah eretz Mitzrayim lishmamah vecharbah veyade'u ki-ani HASHEM ya'an amar Yeor li va'ani asiti.
And the land of Egypt shall become desolate and waste; then they will know that I am HASHEM, because he said, 'The River is mine, and I have made it.'

10 Lachen hineni eleicha ve'el-yeoreicha venatati et-eretz Mitzrayim lechorvot chorev shmamah miMigdol Sveneh ve'ad-gvul Kush.
Indeed, therefore, I am against you and against your rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate, from Migdol to Sveneh, as far as the border of Kush.

11 Lo-ta'avor bah regel adam veregel behemah lo ta'avor-bah velo teshev arba'im shanah.
Neither foot of man shall pass through it nor foot of beast pass through it, and it shall be uninhabited forty years.

I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate; and among the cities that are laid waste, her cities shall be desolate forty years; and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them throughout the countries."

13 Ki koh amar HASHEM Elokim miketz arba'im shanah akabetz et-Mitzrayim min-ha'amim asher-nafotzu shamah.
'Yet, thus says HASHEM G-d: "At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they were scattered.

14 Veshavti et-shvut Mitzrayim vahashivoti otam eretz Patros al-eretz mekhuratam vehayu sham mamlachah shfalah.
I will bring back the captives of Egypt and cause them to return to the land of Patros, to the land of their origin, and there they shall be a lowly kingdom.

15 Min-hamamlachot tihyeh shfalah velo-titnase od al-hagoyim vehim'atetim levilti redot bagoyim.
It shall be the lowliest of kingdoms; it shall never again exalt itself above the nations, for I will diminish them so that they will not rule over the nations anymore.

16 Velo yihyeh-od leveit Yisrael lemivtach mazkir avon bifnotam achareihem veyade'u ki ani HASHEM Elokim.
No longer shall it be the confidence of the house of Yisrael, but will remind them of their iniquity when they turned to follow them. Then they shall know that I am HASHEM G-d.''"

17 Vayehi be'esrim vasheva shanah barishon be'echad lachodesh hayah dvar-HASHEM elai lemor.
And it came to pass in the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, that the word of HASHEM came to me, saying,

18 Ben-adam Nevuchaderetzar melech-Bavel he'evid et-cheilo avodah gdolah el-Tzor kol-rosh mukrach vechol-katef merutah vezachar lo-hayah lo ulcheilo miTzor al-ha'avodah asher-avad aleiha.
Son of man, Nevuchadretzar king of Babylon caused his army to labor strenuously against Tzor; every head was made bald, and every shoulder rubbed raw; yet neither he nor his army received wages from Tzor, for the labor which they expended on it.

19 Lachen koh amar HASHEM Elokim hineni noten liNvuchadretzar melech-Bavel et-eretz Mitzrayim venasa hamonah veshalal shlalah uvazaz bizah vehayetah sachar lecheilo.
Therefore thus says HASHEM G-d: 'Surely I will give the land of Egypt to Nevuchadretzar king of Babylon; he shall take away her wealth, carry off her spoil, and remove her pillage; and that will be the wages for his army.

20 Pe'ulato asher-avad bah natati lo et-eretz Mitzrayim asher asu li ne'um HASHEM G-d.
I have given him the land of Egypt for his labor, because they worked for Me,' says HASHEM G-d.

21 Bayom hahu atzmiakh keren leveit Yisrael ulecha eten pitchon-peh betocham veyad'u ki-ani HASHEM.
'In that day I will cause the horn of the house of Yisrael to spring forth, and I will open your mouth to speak in their midst. Then they shall know that I am HASHEM."

Haftarah BeShalach
Shemot 4:4 - 5:31

4:4 UDvorah ishah nevi'ah eshet Lapidot hi shoftah et-Yisrael ba'et hahi.
Now Devorah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidot, was judging Yisrael at that time.

5 Vehi yoshevet tachat-tomer Dvorah bein haRamah uvein Beit-El behar Efrayim vaya'alu eleiha benei Yisrael lamishpat.
And she would sit under the palm tree of Devorah between Ramah and Beit-El in the mountains of Efrayim. And the children of Yisrael came up to her for judgment.

6 Vatishlach vatikra le-Varak ben-Avino'am mikedesh Naftali vatomer elav halo-tzivah HASHEM Elokei-Yisrael lech umashachta behar Tavor velakachta imcha aseret alafim ish mibenei Naftali umibenei Zevulun.
Then she sent and called for Barak the son of Avino'am from Kedesh in Naptali, and said to him, "Has not HASHEM G-d of Yisrael commanded, 'Go and deploy troops at Mount Tavor; take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naftali and of the sons of Zevulun;

7 Umashachti eleicha el-nachal Kishon et-Sisra sar-tzva Yavin ve'et-richbo ve'et-hamono unetatihu beyadecha.
'and against you I will deploy Sisra, the commander of Yavin's army, with his chariots and his multitude at the River Kishon; and I will deliver him into your hand'?"

8 Vayomer eleiha Barak im-telchi imi vehalachti ve'im-lo telchi imi lo elech.
And Barak said to her, "If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go!"

9 Vatomer haloch elech imach efes ki lo tiheyeh tif'artecha al-haderech asher atah holech ki beyad-ishah yimkor HASHEM et-Sisra vatakom Dvorah vatelech im-Barak Kedshah.
So she said, "I will surely go with you; nevertheless there will be no glory for you in the journey you are taking, for HASHEM will sell Sisra into the hand of a woman." Then Devorah arose and went with Barak to Kedshah.

10 Vayaz'ek Barak et-Zvulun ve'et-Naftali Kedshah vaya'al beraglav aseret alfei ish vata'al imo Dvorah.
And Barak called Zevulun and Naftali to Kedshah; he went up with ten thousand men under his command, and Devorah went up with him.

11 VeChever haKeyni nifrad miKayin mibenei Chovav choten Moshe vayet aholo ad-elon beTza'ananim asher et-Kedesh.
Now Heber the Keyni, of the children of Chovav the father-in-law of Moshe, had separated himself from the Keyni and pitched his tent near the terebinth tree at Tza'ananim, which is beside Kedesh.

12 Vayagidu le-Sisra ki alah Barak ben-Avino'am har-Tavor.
And they reported to Sisra that Barak the son of Avino'am had gone up to Mount Tavor.

13 Vayaz'ek Sisra et-kol-richbo tesha me'ot rechev barzel ve'et-kol-ha'am asher ito meCharoshet hagoyim el-nachal Kishon.
So Sisera gathered together all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people who were with him, from Charoshet Hagoyim to the River Kishon.

14 Vatomer Dvorah el-Barak kum ki zeh hayom asher natan HASHEM et-Sisra beyadecha halo HASHEM yatza lefaneicha vayered Barak mehar Tavor va'aseret alafim ish acharav.
Then Devorah said to Barak, "Up! For this is the day in which HASHEM has delivered Sisra into your hand. Has not HASHEM gone out before you?" So Barak went down from Mount Tavor with ten thousand men following him.

15 Vayahom HASHEM et-Sisra ve'et-kol-harechev ve'et-kol-hamachaneh lefi- cherev lifnei Varak vayered Sisera me'al hamerkavah vayanos beraglav.
And HASHEM routed Sisra and all his chariots and all his army with the edge of the sword before Barak; and Sisra alighted from his chariot and fled away on foot.

16 UVarak radaf acharei harechev ve'acharei hamachaneh ad Charoshet hagoyim vayipol kol-machaneh Sisra lefi-cherev lo nish'ar ad-echad.
But Barak pursued the chariots and the army as far as Charoshet Hagoyim, and all the army of Sisra fell by the edge of the sword; not a man was left.

17 VeSisra nas beraglav el-ohel Ya'el eshet Khever haKeni ki shalom bein Yavin melech-Chatzor uveyn beit Chever haKeni.
However, Sisra had fled away on foot to the tent of Ya'el, the wife of Chever the Keni; for there was peace between Yavin king of Chatzor and the house of Chever the Keni.

18 Vatetze Ya'el likrat Sisra vatomer elav surah adoni surah elai al-tira vayasar eleiha ha'ohelah vatechasehu basmichah.
And Ya'el went out to meet Sisra, and said to him, "Turn aside, my master, turn aside to me; do not fear." And when he had turned aside with her into the tent, she covered him with a blanket.

19 Vayomer eleiha hashkini-na me'at-mayim ki tzameti vatiftach et-nod hechalav vatashkehu vatechasehu.
Then he said to her, "Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty." So she opened a jug of milk, gave him a drink, and covered him.

20 Vayomer eleiha amod petach ha'ohel vehayah im-ish yavo ushe'elech ve'amar hayesh-po ish ve'amarta ayin.
And he said to her, "Stand at the door of the tent, and if any man comes and inquires of you, and says, 'Is there any man here?' you shall say, 'No.'"

21 Vatikach Ya'el eshet-Chever et-yetad ha'ohel vatasem et-hamakevet beyadah vatavo elav balat vatitka et-hayated berakato vatitznach ba'aretz vehu-nirdam vaya'af vayamot.
Then Ya'el, Chever's wife, took a tent peg and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple, and it went down into the ground; for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

22 Vehineh Varak rodef et-Sisra vatetze Ya'el likrato vatomer lo lech ve'ar'eka et-ha'ish asher-atah mevakesh vayavo eleiha vehineh Sisra nofel met vehayated berakato.
And then, as Barak pursued Sisra, Ya'el came out to meet him, and said to him, "Come, I will show you the man whom you seek." And when he went into her tent, there lay Sisra, dead with the peg in his temple.

23 Vayakhna Elokim bayom hahu et Yavin melech-Kena'an lifnei benei Yisrael.
So on that day G-d subdued Yavin king of Kana'an in the presence of the children of Yisrael.

24 Vatelech yad benei-Yisrael haloch vekashah al Yavin melech-Kena'an ad asher hikhritu et Yavin melech-Kena'an.
And the hand of the children of Yisrael grew stronger and stronger against Yavin king of Kanaan, until they had destroyed Yavin king of Kanaan.

5:1 Vatashar Dvorah uVarak ben-Avino'am bayom hahu lemor.
Then Devorah and Barak the son of Avino'am sang on that day, saying:

2 Bifroa pra'ot beYisrael behitnadev am barechu HASHEM.
"When leaders lead in Yisrael, when the people willingly offer themselves, Bless HASHEM!

3 Shim'u melachim ha'azinu roznim anochi la-HASHEM anochi ashirah azamer la-HASHEM Elokei Yisrael.
"Hear, O kings! Give ear, O princes! I, even I, will sing to HASHEM; I will sing praise to HASHEM G-d of Yisrael.

4 HASHEM vetzetcha miSe'ir betzadcha misdeh Edom eretz ra'ashah gam-shamayim natafu gam-avim natfu mayim.
"HASHEM, when You went out from Seir, when You marched from the field of Edom, the earth trembled and the heavens poured, the clouds also poured water;

5 Harim nazlu mipnei HASHEM zeh Sinai mipnei HASHEM Elokei Yisrael.
The mountains gushed before HASHEM, this Sinai, before HASHEM Elokei of Yisrael.

6 Bimei Shamgar ben-Anat bimei Ya'el chadlu orachot veholchei netivot yelechu orakhot akalkalot.
"In the days of Shamgar, son of Anat, in the days of Ya'el, the highways were deserted, and the travelers walked along the byways.

They chose new gods; then there was war in the gates; not a shield or spear was seen among forty thousand in Yisrael.

My heart is with the rulers of Yisrael who offered themselves willingly with the people. Bless HASHEM!

Far from the noise of the archers, among the watering places, there they shall recount the righteous acts of HASHEM, the righteous acts for His villagers in Yisrael; then the people of HASHEM shall go down to the gates.

12 Uri uri Dvorah uri uri dabri-shir kum Barak ushaveh shevyecha ben-Avino'am.
"Awake, awake, Devorah! Awake, awake, sing a song! Arise, Barak, and lead your captives away, O son of Avino'am!

"Then the survivors came down, the people against the nobles; HASHEM came down for me against the mighty.

14 Mini Efrayim shorsham ba'Amalek achareicha Vinyamin ba'amameicha mini machir yardu mechokekim umi-Zvulun moshchim beshevet sofer.
From Efrayim were those whose roots were in Amalek. After you, Binyamin, with your peoples, From Machir rulers came down, and from Zevulun those who bear the recruiter's staff.

And the princes of Yisachar were with Devorah; As Yisachar, so was Barak sent into the valley under his command; among the divisions of Reuven there were great resolves of heart.

16 Lamah yashavta bein hamishpetayim lishmoa shrikot adarim liflagot Reuven gedolim chikrei-lev.
Why did you sit among the sheepfolds, to hear the pipings for the flocks? The divisions of Reuven have great searching's of heart.

17 Gil'ad be'ever haYarden shachen veDan lamah yagur onyot asher yashav lechof yamim ve'al-mifratzav yishkon.
17 Gil'ad stayed beyond the Yarden, and why did Dan remain on ships? Asher continued at the seashore, and stayed by his inlets.

18 Zvulun am kheref nafsho lamut veNaftali al meromei sadeh.
Zevulun is a people who jeopardized their lives to the point of death, Naftali also, on the heights of the battlefield.

19 Ba'u melachim nilchamu az nilchamu malchei Chena'an betanach al-mei Megido betza kesef lo lakachu.
"The kings came and fought, then the kings of Kenaan fought in Tanach, by the waters of Megido; they took no spoils of silver.

20 Min-shamayim nilchamu hakochavim mimesilotam nilchamu im-Sisra.
They fought from the heavens; the stars from their courses fought against Sisra.

21 Nachal Kishon gerafam nachal kedumim nachal Kishon tidrechi nafshi oz.
The torrent of Kishon swept them away, that ancient torrent, the torrent of Kishon. O my soul, march on in strength!

22 Az halmu ikvei-sus midaharot daharot abirav.
Then the horses' hooves pounded, the galloping, galloping of his steeds.

23 Oru meroz amar malach HASHEM oru aror yoshveiha ki lo-va'u le'ezrat HASHEM le'ezrat HASHEM bagiborim.
'Curse Meroz,' said the messenger of HASHEM, 'Curse its inhabitants bitterly, Because they did not come to the help of HASHEM, to the help of HASHEM against the mighty.'

24 Tevorach minashim Ya'el eshet Chever haKeyni minashim ba'ohel tevorach.
"Most blessed among women is Yael, the wife of Chever the Keyni; blessed is she among women in tents.

25 Mayim sha'al chalav natanah besefel adirim hikrivah chem'ah.
He asked for water, she gave milk; she brought out cream in a masterly bowl.

26 Yadah layated tishlachnah viminah lehalmut amelim vehalmah Sisra machakah rosho umachatsah vechalfah rakato.
She stretched her hand to the tent peg, her right hand to the workmen's hammer; she pounded Sisera, she pierced his head, she split and struck through his temple.

27 Bein ragleiha kara nafal shachav bein ragleiha kara nafal ba'asher kara sham nafal shadud.
At her feet he sank, he fell, he lay still; at her feet he sank, he fell; where he sank, there he fell dead.

28 Be'ad hachalon nishkefah vateyabev em Sisra be'ad ha'eshnav madua boshesh richbo lavo madua echeru pa'amei markevotav.
"The mother of Sisra looked through the window, and cried out through the lattice, 'Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why tarries the clatter of his chariots?'

29 Chachmot sharoteiha ta'aneinah af-hi tashiv amareiha lah.
Her wisest ladies answered her, Yes, she answered herself,

30 Halo yimtze'u yechalku shalal racham rachamatayim lerosh gever shlal tzva'im le-Sisra shlal tzva'im rikmah tzeva rikmatayim letzavrei shalal.
'Are they not finding and dividing the spoil: to every man a girl or two; for Sisra, plunder of dyed garments, plunder of garments embroidered and dyed, two pieces of dyed embroidery for the neck of the looter?'

31 Ken yovdu chol-oyveicha HASHEM ve'ohavav ketzet hashemesh bigvurato vatishkot ha'aretz arba'im shanah.
"Thus let all Your enemies perish, O HASHEM! But let those who love Him be like the sun When it comes out in full strength." So the land had rest for forty years.

Haftarah Yitro
Yeshayahu 6:1 - 7:6 and 9:5 - 9:6

6:1 Bishnat-mot hamelech Uziyahu va'er'eh et-HASHEM yoshev al-kise ram venisa veshulav mele'im et-hahechal.
In the year that King Uziyahu died, I saw HASHEM sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.

2 Srafim omdim mima'al lo shesh kenafayim shesh kenafayim le'echad bishtayim yechaseh fanav uvishtayim yechaseh raglav uvishtayim ye'ofef.
Above it stood serafim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

3 Vekara zeh el-zeh ve'amar kadosh kadosh kadosh HASHEM Tzeva'ot melo chol-ha'aretz kevodo.
And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is HASHEM of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!"

4 Vayanu'u amot hasipim mikol hakore vehabayit yimale ashan.
And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Va'omar oy-li chi-nidmeiti ki ish tme-sfatayim anochi uvetoch am-teme sfatayim anochi yoshev ki et-hamelech HASHEM Tzeva'ot ra'u einai.
So I said: "Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, HASHEM of hosts."

6 Vaya'of elai echad min-hasrafim uveyado ritzpah bemelkachayim lakach me'al hamizbe'ach.
Then one of the serafim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar.

7 Vayaga al-pi vayomer hineh naga zeh al-sfateicha vesar avonecha vechatatcha techupar.
And he touched my mouth with it, and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged."

8 Va'eshma et-kol HASHEM omer et-mi eshlach umi yelech-lanu va'omar hineni shlacheni.
Also I heard the voice of HASHEM, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."

9 Vayomer lech ve'amarta la'am hazeh shim'u shamoa ve'al-tavinu ure'u ra'o ve'al-teda'u.
And He said, "Go, and tell this people: 'Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.'

10 Hashmen lev-ha'am hazeh ve'oznav hachbed ve'einav hasha pen-yir'eh ve'eynav uve'oznav yishma ulevavo yavin vashav verafa lo.
"Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and return and be healed."
