And the people believed, and they heard that HASHEM had remembered the Children of Yisrael and that He saw their affliction, and they bowed their heads and prostrated themselves.
5:1 Ve'achar ba'u Moshe ve'Aharon vayomeru el-Par'oh koh-amar HASHEM Elokei Yisrael shalach et ami veyachogu li bamidbar.

4 Vayomer alehem melech Mitzrayim lamah Moshe ve'Aharon tafri'u et-ha'am mima'asav lechu lesivloteichem.

5 Vayomer Par'oh hen-rabim atah am ha'aretz vehishbatem otam misivlotam.
And Pharaoh said, "Behold! the people of the land are now numerous, and you would have them cease from their burdens!"

9 Tichbad ha'avodah al-ha'anashim veya'asu-vah ve'al-yish'u bedivrei-shaker.
Let the work be heavier upon the men and let them engage in it; and let them not pay attention to false words."

The foremen of the Children of Yisrael, whom Pharaoh's taskmasters had appointed over them, were beaten, saying, "Why did you not complete your requirement to make bricks, as yesterday and before yesterday, even yesterday and even today?"
15 Vayavo'u shotrei bnei Yisrael vayitz'aku el-Par'oh lemor lamah ta'aseh choh la'avadeicha.
The foremen of the Children of Yisrael came and cried out to Pharaoh, saying, "Why do you this to your servants?

The foremen of the Children of Yisrael saw them in distress when they said, "Do not reduce your bricks, the daily matter each day."

They said to them, "May HASHEM look upon you and judge, for you have made our very scent abhorrent in the eyes of Pharaoh and the eyes of his servants, to place a sword in their hands to murder us!"
22 Vayashav Moshe el-HASHEM vayomar adonai lamah hare'otah la'am hazeh lamah zeh shlachtani.
Moshe returned to HASHEM and said, "My Master, why have You done evil to this people, why have You sent me?
