He shall bring it to the Kohen and the Kohen shall take a fistful from it [as] its memorial portion and burn it on the altar on the fires of HASHEM; it is a sin-offering.

13 Vechiper alav hakohen al-chatato asher-chata me'achat me'eleh venislach lo vehayetah lakohen kaminchah.
The Kohen will atone for him, for his sin that he committed in one of these [three] ways and he will be pardoned.  [The remaining portion] shall belong to the Kohen as a meal-offering."

14 Vayedaber HASHEM el-Moshe lemor.
And HASHEM spoke to Moshe, saying,

15 Nefesh ki-tim'ol ma'al vechat'ah bishgagah mikodshei HASHEM vehevi et-ashamo l'HASHEM ayil tamim min-hatzon be'erkeCha kesef-shkalim beshekel-hakodesh le'asham.
"If a person wrongfully deviates and unwittingly sins [by using the] sacred property of HASHEM, he shall bring his guilt-offering to HASHEM, an unblemished ram, from the sheep, based on the valuation of holy silver shekalim, for a guilt-offering.

16 Ve'et asher chata min-hakodesh yeshalem ve'et-chamishito yosef alav venatan oto lakohen vehakohen yechaper alav be'eil ha'asham venislakh lo.
That which he sinned [making use] of the sacred property, he shall pay for and add an aditional fifth to that [amount] and give it to the Kohen.  The Kohen will atone for him with the guilt-offering ram and he will be pardoned.

17 Ve'im-nefesh ki techeta ve'asetah achat mikol-mitzvot HASHEM asher lo te'aseinah velo-yada ve'ashem venasa avono.
If a person sins and did [transgress] one of the commandments of HASHEM that should not be done, [however], he is uncertain [that he sinned], and he [nevertheless] incurs guilt and will bear [the burden of] his iniquity.

18 Vehevi ayil tamim min-hatzon be'erkecha le'asham el-hakohen vechiper alav hakohen al shigegato asher-shagag vehu lo-yada venislach lo.
He shall bring an unblemished ram, from the sheep, based on the valuation as a guilt-offering, to the Kohen.  The Kohen will atone for him, for the error which he did unintentionally, and he did not know, and he will be pardoned.

19 Asham hu ashom asham l'HASHEM.
It is a guilt-offering [for] he certainly incurred guilt before HASHEM."

22 O-matza avedah vechichesh bah venishba al-shaker al-achat mikol asher-ya'aseh ha'adam lachato vahenah.
Or, if he found a lost item and denies it and swears falsely in any of these [aforementioned instances], whatever someone will do to sin in these instances.

23 Vehayah ki-yechetah ve'ashem veheshiv et-hagzelah asher gazal o et-ha'oshek asher ashak o et-hapikadon asher hofkad ito o et-ha'avedah asher matza.
It shall be that when he [realizes his] sin and incurs guilt, he shall return the stolen property that he stole, or, the wages that he withheld or, whatever keepsake that was placed in his trust or, the lost item which he found.
